Taste of Melbourne 2011 in Pictures

Taste of Melbourne 2011

Address: Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton Gardens, Nicholson Street, Carlton

When: Thursday September 15 until Sunday September 18

Melbourne's premier restaurant and produce festival, Taste of Melbourne, came to an end yesterday after a gluttonous long weekend.

At the foodie festival, attendees bought crowns (1 crown = 1 dollar) and worked their way around the Royal Exhibition Building in all its glory. Those who came could create their perfect degustation, sampling a dish from any of the participating restaurants, or they simply worked their way around the many samples on offer at the various stalls.

With masterclasses and demonstrations from chefs to cocktail experts, there were plenty of opportunities to learn something as well.

This year some impressive names were involved including Botanical, Esposito and St Peter’s, The European, The Kitchen Cat, Libertine & Le Traiteur, Longrain, Mahjong Black, Mezzo & Mister Bianco, The Millswyn, St Katherine’s, Stokehouse and Sarti.

I arrived at Taste of Melbourne armed with an appetite, high spirits, a camera and 30 crowns. I left with a bursting belly, rose petal jelly, macarons, caramel fudge, a Gourmet Traveller and sore feet.

Although it's too late to taste the fun, I have compiled a series of photographs of some personal highlights for your viewing pleasure. I hope you enjoy Taste of Melbourne from behind my lens and that these shots inspire you to visit next year!

Pretty tasty looking, isn't it! What was your favourite part of Taste of Melbourne 2011? If you didn't get a chance to visit, which photo appealed to you like the most?
